Big Day Countdown - Counting Down To The Special Day App Reviews

I downloaded the app and it wasn’t opening. I sent an email to the developer and within minutes they emailed me back of steps I needed to take and screenshots. And now it works perfectly. The app itself does exactly what I need it to do and I love that I can customize the color of the events. For a $1.99, I got a great deal.

I contacted the Hong We Teo when I purchased the app in December 2014, if he’s willing to add a resize feature. He wrote he considered it in the next update. It happened 8 months ago and still no progress. In the current form the app is not useful at all, as 3-4 reminders block quarter of the screen, so I can decide if I want to remind myself or if I work… Could be a great app, but useless in it’s current form.

Downloaded this countdown timer app and it is easy to use. When i had a question the developer answered within minutes , wonderful customer service.

This app does exactly what it says it will do, which is always a nice surprise for me since I often have trouble! I had a problem loading it and contacted the developer who almost immediately led me thru how to install it and use it, and now it is working pperfectly and I am very happy with both the app and the support for it! If you are looking for a countdown app, this is a really good one!

Just bought and won’t open!!! I want my money back.

Easy to configure, but I have not yet figured out how to minimize/hide the display (without quitting), and so it’s. always. there. and always in the way of something, and because I have three times set, I have to move three separate displays to get to what I want that is hidden behind it. Yes, I understand, it’s probably operator error, but I keep feeling that it should be clear at first glance how to hide the displays (CMD-H does nothing). Otherwise, it’s fine, and if I ever figure this out, I will re-rate it.

Anyone know how to minimize the display

I really like the app itself, EXCEPT for the part where the timers float on top of all of my open windows, making it a huge pain to work around them. It’d been much nicer if I could have these floating on my desktop, or at least the ability to have other windows open on top of the timers.

User friendly and pretty well designed app. 5 stars from me. Regarding the previous review that mentioned about visibility and timers floating on top of working windows, there’s an option to make them float on the desktop only and not blocking any working window. It’s actually a non-issue.

I have had this app for quite a while. Like others, I have been waiting for an update that scales text with the displays. If and when this function is updated, then I can give it 5 stars. Until then, 3 is the best I can offer.

This is about everything one could want in a countdown app. Really easy to use. Entering dates/events is super easy but with some really nice customization options if you choose to use them. Works out of the box and looks very professional. The floating window is aesthetically pleasing - unlike some of the others apps I looked at - and you have the ability to hide it or make it translucent. A great find!

I like a nice, simple, clean app that does the one thing it is supposed to do just right! This is one that fits the bill; clean design, very usable, and after looking at a LOT of approaches to the task of counting down to an important event, THIS was the best I found, and I’ve been very pleased! The only reason There is still room for expansion to make it even better! I’d like to see a lot more custimization abilities, but that is just me wanting to use it more! As it stands, I’m extremely pleased, but would like to see how the build on it. Good stuff!

This app embodies less is more, so much customization with the colors and settings and the best part is, it doesnt interupt the current apps that youre looking it. Its very easy to use and has really great detailed countdown information… I recently purchased tickets to go see Beyonce On the 29 Of April and I LOVE looking at how appealing the Icon looks, Money Well SPent

This is a tremendously helpful app for keeping track of project due dates. The styling is perfect, very modern.

I have El Capitan system and it just doesnt want to work. i tried working on preferances but I hit rock bottom. regret purchaning this.

I was having a problem with starting up the app and with a quick email, my questions were answered very fast, in a friendly and clear manner. Great app and even better customer service!

I completely agree with the 03/31/16 review. I too had trouble and immediatly had help. I just started using this today and it is exactly what I wanted. My son and his girlfriend became engaged on 04/02/16 and I want to countdown the days to the wedding. Because I just started using it, I don’t know if it is possible to have the countdown show the actual days (like 551) instead of “one year, 186 days”. I’ll try to figure that out. Anyway, I highly recommend this app. I love seeing the countdown on my desktop in plain view where ever I want to place it. You can’t go wrong. Try it. You’ll wish you got it sooner.

This app works as advertised. It’s simple to add and set dates with a time-of-day option. If you include the time, you’ll see the hours and minutes countdown too. You can choose different color backgrounds for the countdown window. The only negative for me… and it’s a biggie considering all the stuff I have on my desktop… is the countdown window is large and can’t be resized or docked or made invisible until you need it. It’s just there. You can move the windows around and make them “transparent”, but that really doesn’t help. Dockability or resizeability would make this a five star app for me.
